Quilting Preparation & What to do:
There should be AT LEAST 6” more on the width and 5” more on the length of the quilt top. That way there is room for loading onto the frame.
The seam can be in the middle or either side symmetrically placed or wherever it ends up; it’ll help to have it clipped to better ease onto the rollers. Please press open to lessen any lumps in the quilt. Some quilters will offset the seam so as not to weaken it from folding and storing.
That would be helpful when centering the top just so onto the backing. Knowing which way is up on the quilt would help with directional quilting designs.
I will use what batting you send, your preference. Some tear easier than others. I’ve used cotton, poly, wool, silk, bamboo, ‘green’ and blends. There are Quilter’s Dream Select Cotton & Quilter’s Dream Select Poly & "Eco" Green available for purchase from UnI Quilts if you’d rather not ship batting along with your quilt top/back.
SHIPPING/HANDLING is partially taken care of by UnI Quilts thanx to Theresa Morales. There is a partial return-ship charge depending on the size of quilt.
Tax is taken care of by UnI Quilts thanx to Theresa Morales.
Certainly! Happens all the time! You can give me ideas you like and those things you don't like. Also can let me know who it's for (gender) or where it will be used...such as geographical location.
Measure the quilt’s width & length. (WIDTH x LENGTH will be area in INCHES) then AREA x .026 for OVERALL QUILTING design or AREA x .042 for CUSTOM QUILTING design. (EX: 72”wide x 90” long = 6480sq” x .026 = $168.48 overall; Remember: partial return ship, tax, thread, needle, loading are included.)
Cash and Check/Money Order. Now taking Credit via SQUARE
A $10 coupon is sent to the quiltmaker who refers a new quiltmaker to UnI Quilts for quilting.
Of course! Tho I do have the option of modifying when I see fit. LongArming is a little different quilting than doing it by hand or domestic sewing machine.
UnI Quilts uses a Classic Gammill Plus 26” head on a 12’ table/frame. It does have a stitch-regulator for even-length stitches but NO computer.
PLUS +
NEW*** Juki 2200QVP on a 10' frame with COMPUTER!
The maximum quilt size is 115” in one direction; the other direction can be however long it is. For Juki quilting: max width is 85".
There are Signature colors, YLI neutrals, So Fine neutrals for the top and Bottom Line neutrals for the bobbin. Sometime Signature colors are used in the bobbin. For the contemporary quiltmaker Flourescent colors are available (and they glow under a black-light!)
Usually quilt boxes are return-shipped in about 4 weeks but not more than 6 weeks, usually.
If quilting is during a slow period (January and June) then the quilt could possibly be ready in 2 weeks; if it is needed within 10 days then there is a RUSH charge of $25 added.
It is where a single design is chosen to go over the entire quilt regardless of how it is pieced/appliqued.
This is where each block is quilted separately as is the sashing and borders with different designs.
The center quilt top is measured width by length to find its area times .022 and add Border cost.
FOR EXAMPLE:
If top is 72" by 90" and the border is 5" wide, then
the center is 62" x 80" = 4960 x .026 = $168.48 and
the border takes up the rest of the space which is:
72" x 90" =6480 minus 4960 = 1520 x .03 = $45.60, so
$168.48 + $45.60 = $214.08 total cost
